Mount Gay Rum Experience

Mount Gay warmly welcomes rum enthusiasts from around the world to discover the rich heritage and time-proven craftsmanship of the world’s oldest rum – Mount Gay Rum est. 1703.

Tours are offered at two (2) locations, our:

– longstanding 300+ years Great House & Distillery [St Lucy]

– centrally located Visitor Centre [Bridgetown]

Without a reservation, you may pop by the Visitor Centre [Bridgetown] any Monday through Friday (except public holidays) to awaken your rum appreciation with an introductory:

  • Signature Tasting [4  Rums]  US $25

Tours run like clockwork, on the half-hour [10:30 AM until 2:30 PM].

However, true ‘rum aficionados’ wishing an immersive, bespoke experience, should book one of the below Specialty Rum Tours. [Reservations are required & shuttle transfers are included]

The Distillery is an industrial setting, all guests must comply with the below Health & Safety requirements.

– ENCLOSED SHOES MUST BE WORN: Absolutely NO slippers, flip flops, heels, sandals or open-toed shoes.

– NO SLEEVELESS shirts, tops, vests, dresses or camisoles.

– NO SMOKING: Smoking is prohibited at the Distillery, this includes all vapes & e-cigarettes.

Additional Info. Important Additional Information:
  • Covid-19  Safety Protocols established by the Ministry of Health & Wellness in Barbados are in effect - the wearing of masks, sanitizing of hands, social distancing and temperature checks will be strictly enforced.
  • Check-in: All Signature Tasting guests are required to check-in 15 minutes prior to their intended tour time.
  • Designated Driver: Due to the multiple tastings involved on our Specialty Rum Tours, Mount Gay has included round-trip transport.  However, if you're outside of our pick-up zone, please utilise a designated driver.
